As we leave Winter behind and embrace Springtime, the Trinity Centre team visited the Debenhams Personal Shopper service to talk about the latest trends, wardrobe item must-haves and colour trends.
Did you know that Debenhams in the Trinity Centre has a personal shopping service? And did you know that it is free! You can book a time that suits you and get a wardrobe consultation before a holiday, a wedding, a party or any occasion. Just yourself or with a few friends and family.
With the change in season, we went to visit Johanna in Debenhams in the Trinity Centre to talk about the latest trends and key items to update your wardrobe.
Animal Print isn’t going anywhere. After a winter of leopard print, snake print and zebra print is making a big impact in store and all over shoes, skirts, dresses, jumpsuits and accessories. Tiger print is also big and incorporating two of the season’s must-have colours - rusty red and neon orange.
Like animal print, jumpsuits are sticking around after winter and taking on the boiler suit trend too. Both similar in style, with either zip-up or button detail and available in print or this season’s colour trends.
Colours and colour blocks
Colours, colours are everywhere! From bold neon orange, yellow and cobalt blue to terracotta, dusty pink and a 70’s vintage palette; this Spring, fashion isn’t afraid to use colour and co-ordinate pieces with matching print or colour blocking. Think a neon yellow shirt with cobalt blue wide leg trousers or a terracotta red boiler suit.
Dress to impress
Dresses and skirts are very much in this Spring; but don’t panic if it’s still a little cold, wear tights underneath for now and then without as it gets warmer. Dress length is mid-calf for the new season wardrobe and taking inspiration from the 70’s and 80’s pockets are everywhere. Keeping in with the vintage theme, some dresses have a full skirt and wrap detail.
A t-shirt for every occasion
Another trend that isn’t going anywhere is the basic tee and slogan t-shirt, ideal for dressing down a print coordinating outfit or colour-matching suit. The basic tee can work with the new season mid-calf animal print, neon wide leg trousers or jeans and a denim jacket.
Keeping in with the trends that embrace an era, safari-style clothing is popular this season; the trend ties in with the khaki colour scheme and key features are large buttons on skirts and dresses, a tie waist on skirts and trousers; and pockets on skirts and dresses.
Everything Johanna showed us for this feature is currently available in Debenhams in the Trinity Centre, the personal shopping service is available on the 1st floor in Debenhams and you can find the opening hours here. #TrinityAberdeen
